David Y. Yoon joined Trinity Baptist Church in April 2018 as Associate Pastor of Youth. A native of Los Angeles, CA, David has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University, and an M. Div. and D. Min. from Gateway Seminary (formerly Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary).
David has been serving from children’s ministry to adults for nearly 30 years in the local church. He writes, “God has brought a passion and love to serve and minister to students (children and youth) in my life. My desire is to guide the students to realize their worth in Christ and to recognize and engage in the work that God has prepared for them to do.”
David is married to Joyce and has two children, Amanda and Jared.
A passage that has helped to keep a right perspective: 1 Corinthians 1:27-31, “But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things to shame the strong. He chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things – and the things that are not – to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before him. It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God – that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption. Therefore, as it is written: “Let him who boasts boast in the Lord.”
A passage that has helped to keep focused in life: Ecclesiastes 12:13, “Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man.”
